From Beach Day to La Paz

We had a lie-in on the 28th, sleeping until 7:30 AM. Because Göran and I wanted to stay a day longer in Copacabana while Jacques felt the urge to cycle, we agreed to split up and meet back in La Paz on the 29th.

So we had breakfast together, bought SIM cards in town so we could keep in touch, and parted ways. While Jacques cycled and cycled, Göran and I enjoyed a relaxing day, each of us doing what we wanted. We had a (very short and very cold!) swim in the lake, after which I chilled in the hammock in the sun and he did his thing in town. For dinner I ordered the homemade falafel of the campsite owner and it was simply divine. It was so good that I decided to have it for breakfast again the next morning despite the intense garlic breath I was going to have.

On the 29th we took a bus to La Paz. It was quite a bus ride because we faced a road blockage along the way and had to take a questionably looking wooden construct that was marketed as a ferry from the peninsula on which Copacabana is situated to the Bolivian mainland on the other side. In La Paz, we met up with Jacques, who had done a solid job of cycling almost 80 km on both days, found our nicest hostel yet and explored the Mercado de las Brujas. We had homemade spaghetti and went to bed.

Yes, occasionally my entries actually can be short and to the point. 😛
